Lovely Hula Hands has lived happily in its little house for almost three years and has enjoyed amazing support from customers near and far. Last year, the opportunity came up for us to purchase a beautiful but very neglected brick building that once was a flower shop. In early November Lovely Hula Hands moved to the new location and now offer more seating, a beautiful outdoor patio and thank goodness- a bigger kitchen. Lovely Hula Hands also starts off with a new chef: Troy MacLarty. Previously at a 1910 foursquare house just off Mississippi, this restaurant has been a landmark in culinary and cultural terms alike. Described as "a torrid pink but splendid restaurant named for a sentimental 1940s song," the place features dishes such as line caught halibut with corona beans, pancetta, and baby artichokes in rich lemon butter fumet.

The great thing about Tita's Pista is that it's not only the best Philippine food cart on Mississippi Avenue, it's one of the best Philippine food places (not sure if a cart is technically a restaurant) in Portland Oregon! Mississippi Social - Mississippi Avenue Second Thursdays - Second Thursday Social on Mississippi 6pm-9pm Every second Thursday of the month, local businesses host music, art, wine and food tastings, and much more! Come explore the neighborhood, enjoy an evening of music, art, food, shopping, and more! Second Thursday Social (formerly Mississippi Music Walk) showcases the diversity of local talent and businesses on Mississippi Avenue. Fans of music, food, dance and art will enjoy this monthly event. Many restaurants, studios and clubs will feature live music from 6pm to 10pm. Cirque du Cycling - Cycling Circus Cirque du Cycling is part circus, part bike street race and a benefit for Self Enhancement, Inc. The whole event kicks off at 4:00 with a free three mile family ride to Peninsula Park. There is also a bike parade (advance registration required) featuring all sorts of wild sculptural bikes: tall bikes, choppers, swing bikes and more. There's live music all afternoon, plenty of entertainment to watch and an evening criterium street race with a two-way racing right down the middle of Mississippi Avenue.
